On November 14th, 2003 Sanaka (currently Hitomi) was hospitalized for
Pneumothorax. He was able to finally leave the hospital on December 1st and
recooperated enough to perform for their Christmas live.
A message from Sanaka:
To those of you who came to WEST today, and those who were
looking forward to the 7 Days War lives, I’m really sorry that this is
such a sudden thing.
Because many of you are worried about today’s
incident, I will exlpain the current situation.
I didn’t notice anything
strange about my body’s condition when I woke up this morning. I was able to
get dressed, and go to the live venue, but sometime around when Fatima’s
rehearsal was over, I suddenly felt as if I were suffocating and I felt
pain in my lungs and heart.
After today’s rehearsal, we had a brief
preparation meeting, so I endured the pain, but after 2 or 3 hours immediately
following the meeting, my symptoms didn’t get any better, so I went to the
emergency hospital.
At that time I was convinced that maybe if I got an
injection or an IV, I could still do the live in perfect condition, but the
medical examination’s results were that I had an illness called “pneumothorax”
and that my condition was considerably not good.
With this illness, a
hole in the lung opens up, the lung deflates, and outside of the lung fills up
with air. So leaving a condition like this alone can put a coniderably heavy
burden on the heart, and that’s a very dangerous thing.
At the time it
was decided I needed to be hospitalised to receive immediate treatment, I felt
a lot of regret towards the fans and the band members.
In the first
place, the 7 Days War was something I had proposed; I had to convince a great
number of people including the other band members so that this could be
planned, so it’s regrettable that something like this has happened on the very
first day.
I underwent surgery just a bit ago and now I’m resting in
bed.
They opened a hole near my ribs that was 1.5cm in diameter, and from
there, inserted a tube to draw out all the air (from outside the lungs).
It
seems like the tube will stay inserted like this for several more days.
It
seems like my lung will slowly return to normal, so for now I can rest
easy.
Anyway, I’m hoping I get over this quickly because I want to meet
everyone with a healthy appearance as soon as possible.
Please just wait
a little bit more.
And, I’m really sorry.
Sanaka
And finally on December 1st, Sanaka was cleared to leave the
hospital!
Sanaka’s hospital discharge message
Everyone, thank you for all your concern.
Today on December
1st, I was able to be discharged from the hospital safely.
It was a
longer stay in the hospital than was originally planned, so upon the doctor’s
advice, I am taking a long break to rest.
Although I can’t sing yet so
soon, we are cautiously planning for a Christmas return, so I have planned to
undergo rehabilitation to be able to sing and move again.
I am
looking forward to singing from my heart in front of everyone soon.
I am
really encouraged by all the words from those of you who wrote messages on the
BSS or wrote letters.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
